Top Bear is a free top-down shoot-'em-up in which you take on the role of a bear pilot battling to get back his stolen belongings. In your trusty plane, you'll fly over land and sea, shooting down enemies, avoiding obstacles and battling giant boss monsters to get your stuff.
A simple shmup
If you've played other shmups, you won't find much that's unfamiliar about Top Bear. It's particularly influenced by Shooty Skies, featuring a similar slightly angled perspective and blocky art style. Top Bear is quite a demanding game: your plane can sustain more than one hit, but if you lose them all, that's it. You have to start over again at the beginning of the game. This level of challenge can be frustrating, especially when the game bugs out near the end, leaving you fighting endless waves of enemies instead of proceeding to the actual conclusion. Still, it's a fun, fast-paced, free game, with plenty of fun to be had flying and fighting.
Fly, fight, and be furry
Top Bear is a little rough around the edges -- it's an indie game created for a game jam, after all -- but it's still a lot of fun.
